Federation Centres will streamline its corporate structure as it prepares to implement its merger with Novion Property Group.

As part of the revamp, the roles of executive general manager, investments and chief financial officer will be combined, as the position focuses in the short-term on immediate integration and delivery of synergy benefits.

Pending the outcome of an internal and external search for the most suitable candidate, Novion's current CFO Richard Jamieson will assume acting responsibility for both roles.

Federation CFO Tom Honan is to depart the business to pursue other interests.

Elsewhere, the development team will be combined under Jonathan Timms as the executive general manager, development. Novion's head of development, Daryl Stubbings, is considering other roles within Federation Centres.

A new role, executive general manager, marketing, has been created and an external search has commenced to shortlist potential candidates for the position.

Following the announcement of the merger between Federation and Novion, Bain & Company were engaged to assist with the ongoing work on the strategic organisation design review.

"This is a large and transformational merger and we are moving promptly to ensure our structure and executive team adapts to manage the business, including the creation of a single IT platform, as well as realising the synergies of the merger and progressing the growth opportunities of the merged group," Federation chief executive Steven Sewell said.

The merger is expected to be fully implemented by June 11.
